lanta diver, the largest dive center on Koh Lanta, drives to different dive sites with 2 large dive boats and up to 3 speed boats every day. Some dive sites (Koh Haa, Koh Rock, Hin Daeng/Hin Muang) are located in marine parks which are mostly open between October 15th and May 15th. Phi Phi / Bidas and the wrecks are open year round.
Visibility is usually between 12 and 30 meters. Generally there is a depth limit of 30m.
At Lanta Diver, safety is the number one priority, all guides are appropriately trained (PADI Divemaster or higher). The boats all have oxygen, radio, GPS navigation, etc. Diving takes place in small groups, a maximum of 4 divers per guide. The guides all have long experience on Koh Lanta. All guides speak English; many are multilingual, there are also several German or German-speaking guides and instructors. Lanta Diver is a PADI 5* CDC and offers pretty much all PADI courses. The basis has received several awards from specialist media.
The dive sites are very varied, the reefs are healthy and very rich in fish. You can find pretty much everything that the Andaman Sea has to offer here (depending on the dive site). From colorful nudis to turtles, octopuses and big fish like guitar sharks, whale sharks and manta rays. Of course you have to be lucky for the big fish, but whale sharks, for example, are regularly sighted. Even if you are not lucky in this respect, all divers are enthusiastic about the colorful biodiversity and the abundance of fish. The guides are trained to ensure environmentally friendly diving, i.e. there is a strict "no touch, no chase" policy.
There is always a professional UW photographer on the boats, whose pictures you can buy. Some of the dive sites are also very good for snorkeling. There is always a qualified snorkel guide on board who takes care of the guests. In this way, trips with groups or families that do not only consist of divers can also be made. The schedule of the excursions is roughly as follows: Departure from the pier at 8:00 am (pick-up at the accommodation earlier depending on the distance). Breakfast is served on the way to the first dive site. There is fruit between the first and second dive. Lunch after the second dive, usually there are three different Thai dishes to choose from, one of which is always vegetarian. Then follows a third, optional dive; then the return trip and transfer to the accommodation.
